Skyview Fusion Cuisine (乙龍天) is considered one of the best dim sum restaurants in Markham.
But forget about the best dim in Markham alone, it’s even considered one of the best dim sum places in the GTA overall.
We always enjoy the variety of dim sum dishes that Skyview Fusion offers because it’s always made fresh with the finest ingredients. It never disappoints (unless a server is rude of course).
If you are an early bird and you enjoy a dim sum gathering with your friends and family in the morning, then we recommend getting there before the restaurant opens, which is before 9:00 AM. The lineup is always LONG once you arrive after this time.
Alternatively, you can wait until 1:30 PM or 2:00 PM to avoid the long wait. The only problem is that you may miss out on a few of their good dim sum dishes when you arrive after lunchtime.
For example, when we got there at 2:30 PM one time, they were sold out of their Milk Tarts and Steam Pork and Veggie Dumpling. On top of that, the food isn’t as hot and fresh since they prepare most of it in the morning before 12:00 PM. It’s still good but if you want the best dim sum experience at Skyview Fusion, then you need to come early in the morning.
This restaurant offers about 40 to 50 dim sum items. They are known for their signature Baked BBQ pork Bun Pastry – it’s SO good and I’m going to review this in more detail below.
Skyview Fusion Dim Sum Review
If you’re looking for an authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum place that uses fresh ingredients, then consider giving this place a try.
Overall, this place is always a popular choice for dim sum gatherings. The food is delicious, and it won’t disappoint you or the people you bring.
By the way, we also have a review post on The One Fusion Cuisine (聚龍軒) and Yu Seafood Dim Sum (漁膳房) for you to check out! Both are just as amazing as Skyview and we highly recommend trying them too!

Skyview Fusion Cuisine Menu and Review:
Here’s an honest review of my thoughts and rating after coming to this restaurant many times. I’ve been a fan of Skyview Fusion Cuisine and coming here since 2014.
Food: 4/5
You can’t go wrong with most of their dim sum items. My absolute favorite dish is the Baked BBQ pork Bun Pastry and it’s the item I always order when I come here. Here are a few items I’ll be reviewing today.
1. BBQ pork bun
They offer a few different tasty BBQ pork buns including the:
- Baked BBQ Pork Bun
- Steamed BBQ Pork Bun
- Baked BBQ Pork Puff Pastry
These are all good, but their signature baked BBQ Pork Bun is the best! It’s actually one of the best BBQ pork buns I’ve ever had in Markham, and the only BBQ pork bun I’d eat. The appearance of this one looks like the Hong Kong Pineapple bun. Inside is filled with delicious Chinese BBQ pork (Char Siu).
When the bun is served to you, it smells heavenly like your aromatic pineapple bun with a light touch of butter. It’s so light that you probably won’t notice it. Pretty subtle I’d say.
The top crust is flaky and crunchy with a slight buttery flavour as I mentioned. Inside is loaded with chunks of BBQ pork (char siu). What I like is the char siu isn’t fattening. You know how there are some terrible char sius that is purely fat? Yeah, it wasn’t like that!
When you take the first bite, the bun will taste a little sweet with some juicy and savory char siu. Overall, the bun is soft and light. Just trust me on this – it’s delicious!
2. Steamed Shrimp and Snow Pea Leaves Rice Roll (aka 肠粉 “Chang Fen”)
Chang Fen (肠粉), also known as “rice noodle rolls”, comes in many varieties from classic shrimp to beef and even pork. If you’re looking for just chang fen and the best ones in GTA, then we highly recommend Yin Ji Chang Fen restaurant. They have one at Warden and Steeles in the borderline of Markham and Scarborough.
What I like about Skyview Fushion Cuisine’s is their Steamed Shrimp Roll because it actually has some veggie inside. It’s obviously not enough veggie intake for the day but better than nothing, especially for those of you who aren’t eating a lot of veggies! Ha!
The outside wrap is silky and smooth. The Soy sauce is warmed up in a hot soy sauce holder.
The Snow Pea Leave vegetable is fresh and has a slight crunch to it. When you bite into the shrimp inside, it feels quite fresh and what they call in Cantonese “song how”.
3. Chestnut with Corn and Pumpkin Congee
There isn’t a lot to say about their Chestnut with Corn and Pumpkin congee.
This dish leans more towards the bland side, but it’s not bad. It’s actually perfect for those who are looking for something that is a healthy alternative. But if you want something that is packed and loaded with delicious flavor, I recommend the Mustard Green with Clam and Persevered Egg Congee. You foodies will likely enjoy this one more than the Chestnut with Corn and Pumpkin Congee.
What I liked about the Pumpkin congee is it’s steamy hot. Like piping hot because it’s fresh from the pot. But be patient or you’ll get burned.
Their congee bowls are pretty big. It’s roughly 5 to 6 servings, so it can feed a group of people.
So, if you have a table of at least 4 people, I recommend ordering a bowl of congee to fill your tummies.
4. Steamed Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow)
Steamed Shrimp Dumplings are one of my favorite dim sums to order. You can never go to a dim sum restaurant without ordering this!
What I like about Skyview Fushion Cuisine’s Har Gow are JUMBO size shrimps. It’s definitely bigger than other places. It’s almost like you’re getting two Har Gows in one. So, if you put in one order of a Har Gow, then you’re getting almost 8 regular-sized ones. The skin is smooth and goes well with the shrimp.
5. Steamed Pork Dumpling (Siu Mai)
This is another dim sum item you can never go without at a dim sum restaurant.
Skyview’s Siu Mai is hot and steamy with a full-size shrimp as garnish. Like a sleeping dragon.
In a massive portion size that’s wrapped like a wonton, it comes with fresh meat that is tender. It’s also topped with some tobiko, which feels like tiny fish eggs exploding in your mouth when you bite into them.
6. Glutinous Ball with Salty Egg Yolk Cream Filling
To be honest, I prefer the “classic custard milk yolk buns” because they’re lighter and I can pop them in my mouth more easily. Unfortunately, most dim sum restaurants don’t serve this style anymore since it’s considered “old school”, so the salty egg yolk cream filling is the modern version.
Most people will say this is heavenly because it’s filled with smooth salty egg yolk cream along with butter in the center of the bun. Just be careful when you open up the bun because it’s like lava flowing down smoothly onto your dish.
The yellow bun is fluffy and spongey on the outside, which pairs well with the creamy inside. This center is smooth egg yolk that is both salty and sweet – more on the sweeter side. It’s perfect for people who love creamy sweets. But if you’re someone who doesn’t have a sweet tooth, then this bun may not be the right one for you.
7. King Durian Tart
I’m a lover of durian because the fruit itself is SO good!
This sweet will smell heavenly for you durian lovers out there!
One of my favourite places to get durian tarts is Les Chateaux Bakery which is located in Unionville. They are best known for their freshly made signature egg, milk, and durian tarts!
But given Unionville is far from us, we will take whatever we can that’s nearby, and that’s the one from Skyview Fusion.
The crust is crispy and the center is so smooth with a medium taste of durian. It’s not super strong which is a good thing for those who can’t stand too much of it. But for those who don’t like durian at all, you’ll find this is super strong. You’ll probably think that it stinks too.
You can taste the durian and texture. What I like is you’re actually getting some real durian inside the tart (you can feel and taste a bit of the stringy texture). It’s really creamy and custardy. Imagine having an egg tart except the center is just pure durian. Again, I LOVE it!
Service: 3.5/5
The service at Skyview Fusion Cuisine is overall fast and efficient.
Though you won’t get super friendly service like what you see in most Western restaurants or a Starbucks joint, the servers here do their jobs well. They set up your tables nicely, serve the food quickly, and refill the teapot for you.
You call for the bill, they will come quickly.
If you say thanks, they will say “you’re welcome.” That’s that.
Ambiance: 4/5
The décor inside is beautiful and modern. The overall atmosphere feels like it’s high-class.
Skyview Fusion restaurant is very spacious, and they have gorgeous lights.
Overall, it’s a dim sum environment that will bring joy and happiness to your group of friends and family.
Price: $$$
The price is on the higher end. Most people will say this is expensive but it’s worth it because they use higher quality ingredients. Mind you, the environment is nice and modern too.
The dim sum here is not oily and they are generous with their portion size too. At this pricing, you’re not going to get low-quality food. You will get what you pay for.
- Small – $4.29
- Medium – $5.29
- Large – $6.29
- XL – $7.99
- Special – $9.99
Overall, we rate this place as 4/5. Everything is good and you won’t go wrong with this restaurant. Just be ready to spend a bit more than your average dim sum outing. But again, it’s really worth the experience! You only live once. 😊
