Sushi is the dish that first comes to mind when one thinks about Japanese cuisine. You can’t have a Japanese meal without sushi. It is a national dish that is served in almost every restaurant in Japan, from high-end to casual ones.
The best thing about sushi is that it’s loaded with delicious toppings and wrapped with a light layer of rice. You can order your favourite sushi roll with miso soup and a salad on the side or you can go for a bento box that has a bit of everything.
Although sushi isn’t the focus of izakayas, the Japanese equivalent of pubs, you can still expect top-notch sushi when you visit the best izakayas in Toronto because they pride themselves on serving the freshest seafood.
Since the people of Markham are fond of Japanese dishes, sushi can be hit-or-miss. If it’s cooked poorly, it’s a collapsible mess, but when prepared well, truly an excellent foodie experience.
To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of the best sushi restaurants in Markham so that you can enjoy a delicious meal without worrying about the quality.

KAKA All You Can Eat is one of the top AYCE sushi restaurants in Toronto. The place is most of the time crowded, although the selection on their menu is quite extensive. They have everything from maki rolls, to donburi, to torched and sushi.
The best thing about this restaurant is that although they are an AYCE restaurant, the quality and quantity of its dishes are not compromised to meet the needs of its customers. Since its first opening, they are still hype and have long, steady lines daily.
We highly recommend you try their torched sushi – we ordered a bunch and wanted to order more, but we had to save room for other delicious dishes. You can read our KaKa review for more detail.
