Don’t wait for the Mister Softee truck jingles to drift through your windows when temperatures climb. Why? Well, we, residents of Toronto, are fortunate as we can enjoy creamy ice cream (& gelato) across the city without chasing a truck down the street.
Mississauga is stacked with incredibly delicious ice cream shops, so there’s no reason you should sacrifice and get a pint of freezer-burnt grocery store ice cream when you feel like treating yourself.
From local stores-gone-mega chains to old-school shops giving us a bit of nostalgia to dairy-free havens serving delicious vegan options, you have no excuse not to devour a scoop (or two).
As such, after careful scientific analysis (eating a bunch of ice creams all at once), we have come up with a list of our favourite and the best ice cream places in Mississauga.

1. Scoops Ice Cream
Address: 82 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1E1
Website: https://www.scoopsicecreamshop.com/
Forget the vanilla: At Scoops Ice Cream on Lakeshore Road East, you will enjoy rare and delicately made in-house ice creams such as berry cheesecake, peanut butter chocolate, and watermelon with lemon sorbet.
This ice cream parlour uses quality ingredients (i.e., fresh fruits, whipped cream, cream soda, etc.), making them stick out from the mainstream ice cream shops. They also serve plenty of simple and classic gelatos, so you will never run out of flavour options.
But do you know what’s the real stand out? Nothing beats walking away from this shop holding an accessorized Belgian chocolate cone dip and almond waffle cone that is loosely covered with yummy chocolate!
2. Dairy Cream
Address: 715 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1J7
Website: https://www.dairy-cream.ca/
Lakeshore Road truly offers an abundance of dessert spots, and Dairy Cream is definitely the king cone or a hotspot for dessert lovers. This 50-year-old legend may look like a grocery store, but its dessert menu is like a supermarket of desserts. They serve hot fudge brownies, banana splits, baked funnel cake, and more.
But the ice cream is the reason why you should join their long queue of customers. This is the ideal place if you want an ice cream not made of the usual nine-ingredient sugar bombs you will find in town.
The locals love soft serve, and the fact that their ice creams are not super sweet is a beautiful thing – perfect for health-conscious and those who have lower proclivities with sweets.
3. Eva’s Original Chimneys
Address: 53 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5G 1C9 (+more locations)
Website: https://www.originalchimneys.com/
We could wax poetic about Eva’s Chimney Cake, but even when you’re in the mood for some fluffy and soft dessert, somehow, their ice cream steals the spotlight. It’s freshly made and based on the recipe of the family owner’s grandmother Eva, whom the restaurant is named after.
Besides their usual menu (Matcha Kit Kat, Oreo Chocolate, Strawberry Cheesecake, etc.), true foodies always look forward to their limited-edition ice cream menu every month. For instance, they had a Pumpkin and Scream Cone menu in November, a Christmas festive ice cream selection in December, and a “Veganuary” menu in January.
All ice creams are available as to-go and for dine-in. It’s also worth mentioning, too, that you’ll find more vegan ice cream flavours here than in other traditional ice cream parlors in Square One.
4. LaDiperie
Address: 208 Queen St S, Mississauga, ON L5M 1L5 (+more locations)
Website: https://ladiperie.com/
Thank you, Quebec – and not just for the beautiful cheesy poutines. You have given us LaDiperie, one of Canada’s best and most famous ice creams. With over 45 outlets, this brand is not making a joke in providing ice cream fanatics with delectable and Instagram-worthy treats.
You will come to this shop for refreshing ice cream and expect to walk away holding a beige cone or a blue cup full of something unexpected and wonderful. The best surprise so far? It’s any of their flavours dipped in cookie dough and Kit Kat pieces. It’s an ooey gooey treat that is as crunchy as your favourite tortillas.
5. Murphy’s Ice Cream Parlor
Address: 9 Main St, Mississauga, ON L5M 1X4
Website: Not available
Do you feel like a business is more credible when it has its own website? We feel you. However, our food adventures made us realize that a shop with no social media presence at all can be the most reliable. Why? They have been around for years and are successful enough that they don’t bother to post everything on the internet.
That is Murphy’s Ice Cream Parlor. It has become a staple dessert in Streetsville and perhaps the most well-known ice cream spot in Mississauga. Stopping by here will make you overthink the “Monkey business” (banana flavour with chocolate swirl) because it’s better than other ice cream shops serving fruit flavours.
Even a simple vanilla ice cream has incredible creaminess and depth of flavour that plays particularly well with espresso flakes. If you consumed too many, help yourself to digest every calorie by walking around the beautiful Streetsville Memorial Park.
6. D Spot Dessert Café
Address: 5165 Dixie Rd Unit 7, Mississauga, ON L4W 4G1 (+more locations)
Website: https://dspotdessert.com/
Between their hundreds of desserts, creamy ice creams, and fruity sorbets that taste like freshly picked fruits, this amazingly aesthetic dessert shop reminds us of the Yamashita treasure or Meryl Streep’s IMDb page: it simply does not miss.
D Spot Dessert Cafe has over 10 locations across Ontario, with each outlet stocked with various classic and seasonal ice cream flavours and (again) hundreds of dessert options. Each ice cream is super creamy, and eating them feels like someone kippered gallons of dairy over an open flame.
Trying to be healthy? Your best option is the Dark Chocolate Vegan ice cream. Unfortunately, that is only your vegan or “healthiest” ice cream option. But it doesn’t hurt to eat more calories, right? You deserve delicious treats, after all!
7. Pinochi
Address: 2340 Council Ring Rd unit 104, Mississauga, ON L5L 1C1
Website: https://pinochiicecream.ca/
When the sun is screaming a temperature of 25°C for 7 days straight, it’s time to head to Pinochi, Gen Z’s favourite Arabic ice cream shop. Hyper-vibrant and ice-cold, their frozen treats come in tasty flavours like Vanilla, Chocolate, Nescafe, Bubble Gum, Mango, and other fruity flavours.
And if you’re craving something a little lighter than sorbet or creamy ice cream, their crepes topped with gelato or milkshake are your best options. Yes, they are not “technically” the usual ice creams in a cone or cup – but they are satisfyingly cold and sweet, and everyone loves eating them, so it stays.
8. Nani’s Gelato
Address: 6039 Erin Mills Pkwy, Mississauga, ON L5N 0G5 (+more locations)
Website: https://www.nanisgelato.com/
Nani’s may be a young ice cream parlor, but if you haven’t heard of nor visited this place, you’re probably suffering backache by now because that is surely a heavy rock to be under. Established in 2018, this gelato shop serves authentic Italian and Asian ice creams and high-quality treats that are not overpriced at all.
Nani’s used to be a gelato truck, which makes them very famous as it reminds customers of the good old days when parents would buy us as kids after allowing us to play with kids in the neighbourhood all day. Thankfully, they had a permanent physical shop in Erin Mills Parkway in 2021 and a new franchise store in Liberty Village in January 2023.
Here, the gelatos are light, fresh, and creamy enough not to leave you in a food coma. They also often change flavours, so follow their Instagram page for updates!
9. Karachi Tawa Ice Cream
Address: 808 Britannia Rd W Unit 102, Mississauga, ON L5V 0A7
Website: https://karachi-tawa-ice-cream.business.site/
Anytime we feel a slight inconvenience because of the heat during the summer, you will find us bee-lining at Karachi Tawa Ice Cream. This comfort food spot prioritizes the most critical things an ice cream lover would crave – something light, dairy, and soft serve.
The whole place is elegant, colourful and feels like an upscale South Asian dairy farm. Kids would love this dessert shop because of its enticing kaleidoscope of toppings. Not to mention their vanilla ice cream that tastes like the one you’ll have at a fast-food restaurant but somehow richer and, of course, made from better ingredients.
We don’t give out awards for ice cream names, but if we did, we must commend their fun and innovative names, such as King Kulfa, Paan Pitari, and Joker Jaani. If you’re curious what they mean, it’s for you to find out and try because they are d*mn delicious.
10. Sweet Jesus
Address: 100 City Centre Dr, Mississauga, ON L5B 2C9 (+more locations)
Website: https://www.sweetjesusicecream.com/
Unlike Karachi Tawa, this one doesn’t have quirky and weird ice cream names, which is only right because they are named Sweet Jesus (pun absolutely intended). Their ice creams, though, look unique as they look like a tall volcano rather than the usual swirl or spiraling pattern.
Grabbing ice cream at this place will make you realize that good ice cream doesn’t need to include a seasonal flavour or a drunk toddler’s choice of colourful candy dumped on top. Even if you buy the classic flavours, we assure you they will be delicious.
They have a tight menu that includes Cookies Cookies Cookies and Cream (not a typo), Hella Hazelnut, Rocky Road, Red Rapture, and more. If it’s your first time here, make these flavours your base and take advantage of their excellent daily toppings. You’re welcome.
